Welcome to Chacombe
Chacombe is an English civil parish within the unitary authority of West Northamptonshire
Chacombe is a quintessential English village steeped in history, best known for its medieval Augustinian priory, its 14th-century parish church housing rare historic wall paintings, and a prominent 17th-century bell-founding lineage. First recorded in the 1086 Domesday Book as Cewecumbe and later as Chaucumba, the village grew into a key hub for the regional cloth industry by the 18th century, powered by several local mills processing wool from the surrounding countryside. Though the wool trade eventually waned in the 19th century, Chacombe retained its vitality as a prosperous agricultural community. Today, it remains a charming home to roughly 707 residents across 270 properties.
